Self-love??!

Came across this trend called “self-love” a long time ago. In fact, I was among the flock who religiously followed what the so-called bloggers/celebrities spoke about it. I know for a moment, we feel it’s so comforting/pleasant/soothing, BUT, did you know that {1 John 4:19} “We love because HE loved us first.”?? I wasn’t aware of it! I didn’t realize that I blindly followed what people said.

Also, there are people who say, ” until you love yourself, you can’t love someone else”. I don’t understand this theory. In my opinion, you cannot learn what is love, until and unless you’ve truly experienced love!  Where do people learn to love? Another person? If so, from where does that another person learns to love? From another person? Lol!

We all know-how conditional and circumstantial is the love of humans! Yet, we think, our love is unconditional & pure. Yep, I’ve been there, I’ve done that until I got to know that God’s love is true & eternal. God’s love can not be understood until you truly seek him! His love is PERFECT!

You don’t believe? Then this one’s for you,
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” {1 John 4:9-10 (NIV)}

Conclusion: If you really want to know what Love is, KNOW HIM! Through that, you’ll know how much He loves you, you’ll know your worth IN HIM. Ultimately, you don’t have to put excess stress/toil/whine about loving yourself. God’s love is not a human’s love, it’s AGAPÉ!
